ADVANCED K9 TACTICS/ TEAM INTEGRATION COURSE

This course provides training, communication, and deployment strategies that will allow K9 handlers to successfully integrate with any team from a small patrol officer search team to a large SWAT team deployment. The course is designed to teach not only K9 handlers but also patrol officers, tactical operators, and command staff how to accomplish effective integration. Upon completion of this course participants will have the knowledge and ability to develop and implement effective operational deployment strategies utilizing strong behavioral control, of the K9, combined with proven police tactics. The course will cover deployments in arrest team functions, entry teams, containment teams, area searches and building searches. This course can be tailored to the specific needs of any department.

ADVANCED DEPLOYMENT AND TRAINING TECHNIQUES FOR THE EXPLOSIVES DETECTION DOG 

This course is designed for the canine handler who conducts explosive detection missions.  The course will provide the canine handler with both advance training and deployment techniques.  Designed for safer more effective explosives detection, this course is ideal for both dual and single purpose single purpose detection police service dog teams. Participants will receive instruction on the science of odor and how it can be used to improve the effectiveness of the detection dog

K9 LIABILITY AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

This course is designed for the K9 handler and program manager of teams deploying police service dogs with patrol and SWAT teams alike. The course will cover training, documentation, deployments decisions, and management and supervision for both the patrol and detection K9. The course is instructed by and experienced K9 handler / supervisor and civil litigation attorneys with years of involvement defending K9 units.

ADVANCED K9 TACTICS FOR PATROL

This class is a precursor to the integration course and includes practical scenario-based training that teaches advanced deployment and control techniques.  In this class you will learn search patterns, On and off-leash limited penetration searches, search team formation, deployment and control considerations. The class will also include discussion on how to maintain the K9 as an asset during a search or deployment, positioning of perimeter or containment units, attic/crawl space insert techniques, and felony car stops
